Smartfella Internet Services Adds New Local Number Tracking System

This unique Web-based interface on SFI's website allows dial-up subscribers to locate the nearest access number -- via an easy-to-use web page-- thus avoiding long distance charges and ensuring the fastest connection possible. In short, the Local Number Tracker helps new and existing subscribers to find the best connection possible for Internet access.

Here’s how Local Number Tracker works. The subscriber first goes to the SFI dial-up numbers page. There, the subscriber will be given the option to enter their local phone number. After a subscriber enters their phone number, the system recommends a list of local access numbers based on area code and prefix.

The system also allows subscribers to track ISDN and bonded numbers in order to find out if special services are available (i.e. a static IP address). The end-user may also find out what protocol is used on that local number.
